We are proud to wear Kastel Denmark's Charlotte Collection UV Protective shirts as our official practice shirt. They keep us cool and protect us from the sun, making them the prefect shirt to wear to a lesson on a hot day. Given their amazing fit and soft fabric, many team members have also been spotted wearing Kastel Denmark shirts around campus!
Cadence Cisneros, Cory Cochran, Casey Astorino, Juliet Porter, Annika Hoy and Emma Krenzke headed to Fresno State on January 31st to compete in USC's first NCEA style scrimmage. Riders compete head to head and head in both fences and flat. Similar to IHSA, riders draw a horse randomly out of a hat, but riders are allowed a short warm up before competing. Flat riders also perform a dressage test individually rather than running a regular flat class. USC fell 6-4 to the Bulldogs, but we had a great time and enjoyed the experience so much! Thank you to Fresno State Equestrian for having us, we hope to see you again in the near future! Junior Cory Cochran was MVP of the flat section!
We're so excited to announce our partnership with International Riding Helmets! Although we never like to think of it, riding is a dangerous sport and every time we ride there's a risk of head injury. Our beautiful and brand new IRH helmets help us feel a lot safer and put our minds at ease. Frank Plastino, owner of IRH is an original member of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ATSM) committee on equestrian headgear and a contributor to the development of industry standard F1163.90a, so we know we're getting the safest helmets on the market. IRH has the ability to combine top of the line safety with stylish and modern design, so we're looking forward to making our debut in IRH helmets this spring!
The USC Equestrian Team headed down to UCSD for the second show of the season November 8-9th. The team ended the first day as the Reserve High Point Team while Junior Cadence Cisneros, took the Reserve High Point Rider award after placing 1st and 2nd in Novice Fences and Flat. Junior Casey Astorino celebrated her birthday on Saturday, and took 3rd in Intermediate Fences! After the first day of showing, we enjoyed a delicious dinner in celebration of Casey and Coach Kat’s birthdays!
We're so excited to announce our partnership with RevitaVet Therapeutic Systems! RevitaVet is a light therapy system that works at the cellular level to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and improve performance. Here, Mateo wears the poll cap as well as the smaller attachments on his hocks and hips. Mateo wasn't in a serious program before joining the team so he came to us with the tendency to swap off his leads and he carried a lot of tension in his neck. After just a few uses of the RevitaVet, we noticed Mateo almost never swapped and there was a significant improvement to his overall carriage and movement.
We also used the RevitaVet on Napoleon, who was known to get heavy through downward transitions which we believed was due to built up tension in his poll. He wore the poll cap before competing and he was much softer and put in the best performances we've seen him do to date! We are very happy with the results of our RevitaVet thus far and can't wait to treat the other team horses. Thank you so much to Tom for introducing us to such a wonderful product!
Above, Bella gets a full system RevitaVet Treatment!
